Years across music, fashion and commercial work put me on different sides of the same film — directing, shooting, lighting, producing and editing.

Each one changes what happens around it. Production shapes what is possible. Light and camera position change how a person or place is understood. Working with people changes what can happen in the moment. And the edit tells you very quickly which decisions actually mattered.

The finished work is often easy to admire. The harder thing to see is the judgement behind it — the standards, decisions, anticipation and experience that make difficult things look straightforward.

Understanding that tells me what the film needs to reveal: who matters, where we need to spend time, what deserves attention and what can disappear.
